Paul T. Gilbert was my grandfather, but died when I was young, and I only remember meeting him a few times. I grew up with his stories, and my children loved them too, but it has only been over the last ten years I have begun to learn very much about him, with the help of papers, letters, and photographs from a file my father had, and I've been surprised by what I have learned. I hope that those people who still remember and love the stories, or people who have newly discovered them, will enjoy these pages.
